What should I eat for meals?
Your coach will furnish you with nutrition plan handouts to adhere to during your detox or wellness protocols. Additionally, the Ayubowan app serves as an excellent resource for nutritious meals and recipes. Generally, we suggest starting your day with a smoothie containing Daily Nutritional Support, berries, greens, and a healthy fat. For lunch and dinner, a balanced meal consisting of protein, vegetables, healthy fats, and root vegetables is recommended. Serving sizes for each meal will vary based on the client's goals.
A swift approach to facilitate healing is by minimizing the body's energy expenditure on digestion. Upon awakening in the morning, it's beneficial to avoid burdening the body with a heavy meal to digest. Instead of having the smoothie, you have the option to enjoy a bowl of fruit alongside it or mix the Daily Nutritional Support powder with water and consume them separately.
No. You may eat any of the foods from the protein, fruit, vegetable, and healthy fat columns unless otherwise instructed. The bolding just represents the foods with the least amount of wellness associated issues.
Right now, your meal plan is set up as a smoothie for breakfast, a whole food lunch, optional mid afternoon snack, and a whole food dinner. No other snacking should be included initially. The reason for this is that we want to give you three hours at minimum between meals so that all of the food can move through your stomach before adding new food. This should help improve your energy, digestive strength, and other absorption issues.
If you do not feel tired going into your workout, you can have your shake afterward. If you feel hungry upon waking and don’t think that you can work out without something in your stomach you could consume half of the shake before you work out and half afterward.
The safe starches are listed under the vegetable category as yams, yucca, sweet potatoes, potatoes, and other vegetables. These are acceptable even during the first 21 days. After 21 days you may decide to try some gluten-free grains, which are listed in the yellow column on your one page shopping done.

Onions and garlic contain a nutrient called allicin. This product kills yeast, fungus, and bacteria. However, it is typically used in a nutritional supplement form, which is an extract and not the whole food. If someone with yeast or bacterial overgrowth uses the whole food, the prebiotic fibers can feed yeast and bacteria.
A good afternoon snack would consist of a bowl of fruit, a second smoothie, the Daily Nutritional Support powder with water, a handful of rice crackers and hummus or guacamole, or cut up vegetables and some white bean dip.
Ideally, there is no snacking or eating after dinner. The reason for this is that we are trying to allow for 2 to 3 hours of digestion before getting into bed. This will then allow you to properly detox overnight. By eating before bed you are restarting back up the digestion process, which can affect both detoxification and sleep quality.
We recommend first choosing grains to add back in slowly (rice and oatmeal first). For any food that you are adding back in, just be sure to only choose one new food at a time to try and monitor for reactions (can try 1 food, several times in 1 week).
Yes – look for organic labels to ensure that it is non-GMO.
All cans contain aluminum or BPA-liners, but just do your best to choose fresh ingredients as able, and use cans sparingly as needed.
Parchment paper is a great alternative for many cooking methods, and avoid using aluminum with grilling.
For the first 21 days, we recommend only using olive oil, freshly squeezed lemon, a pinch of sea salt, black pepper, and any dried herbs or spices as a sauce or dressing. After that, you may include other sauces that are made up of the foods that are on your shopping list.
If not, email us and we would be happy to get back to you with in 24 hrs.

The Detox is a comprehensive detoxification program that allows your body 7, 14 or 21 days to reset and remove harmful toxins from your body. These toxins can cause weight gain, bloating, dry skin, brain fog, mood disorders, and hormone imbalances. The results from the 7-Day detox have been shown to improve many of these issues.
Each 7-day Detox comes with 7 breakfast and 7 afternoon shakes. The food shopping list is contained within the kit, but you would purchase your own lunch and dinners for days 3-7. (Days 1 and 2 are 4 shakes per day and are supplied for you.)
Please only follow the directions on the mini-brochure enclosed in your Detox kit. You will be using 1 scoop for each shake four times a day on days 1-2. On days 3-7 you will be using two scoops for each breakfast and mid-afternoon shake.
Typically, our wellness clients use the Detox 4 times per year (seasonally). However, many of our weight loss clients use it more often to help combat the effects of travel, holiday, and occasional slip-ups in their nutrition. We recommend the All-in-One Daily Detox Shake for every day maintenance use after your Detox is over.
We do not recommend having coffee/caffeine during the detox in order to see the best results. However, if you are not able to give up coffee we recommend only having about 6oz of black coffee or tea in the morning.
If you miss taking an AYU or FM capsule you can pick up with the next scheduled capsules – there is no need to take additional ones.
You should be consuming about 80-100 oz of water each day throughout the detox. Much of this will be from the Detox shakes themselves (each one is about 20-24 ounces). Additional water is only needed if you feel thirsty.
Yes, if you cannot do straight water with the powder you may use a 50/50 ratio of unsweetened nut milk with water. If wishing to use coconut milk, it is okay to use about 1-2 tsp as part of a meal or recipe but is preferable that the main sources of fats are monounsaturated (avocado, olive oil) as they are easier to digest than saturated fats. Was this article helpful?
The 7-Day Detox is gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, egg-free, soy-free. However, if any of your allergies lie outside of these specifications please check the ingredient list to be sure that that foods that you are sensitive to are not in any of the products.
Yes, herbs and spices are okay to use for seasoning your food.
Note: some herbs including garlic and onion can act as a prebiotic and cause bloating which may slow weight loss and increase gut dysfunction. If this happens on days 3-7 we recommend cutting back on those products.

Please consult your healthcare practitioner if you are under 18, pregnant or lactating, have liver or kidney disease, gallbladder conditions, appendicitis, eating disorder, type 1 diabetes, or if any of your medications are contraindicated with any of these ingredients.
During the detox you should stay on all prescription medication prescribed by your healthcare practitioner, please also confirm that none of your medications are contraindicated with any of the ingredients in the detox.
We do not recommend vinegar on the detox because it is acidic and it can feed yeast or bacterial overgrowth. Instead, try using lemon or lime for acidity/flavor instead.
Yes, you may also drink unsweetened and caffeine-free herbal teas; especially ginger tea. Please avoid coconut water or any beverages with sugar (natural or added).
Decreased bowel movements during the first 2 days of the detox is normal because you are not consuming whole foods and only drinking liquids. After you introduce meals again on day 3, bowel movements should begin returning to normal.
If this is your first detox, we do not recommend exercising on the fasting days. Exercising on the meal days is okay, but don't overdo it and pay close attention to how your body is feeling. The main goal of the detox is also to give your body time to rest and rejuvenate. If you have done the detox before and know that you always have enough energy to exercise when fasting, then go ahead. Make sure to only do light exercise and continue to stay aware of how your body is feeling.
Bloating after consuming the shake and supplements is often a sign of weak digestion. If this occurs, it is best to drink the shake slowly over the course of 60 minutes.
Ideally no, but if needed you may have sugar-free gum and only right after a meal. Chewing gum stimulates digestion, which can be beneficial after eating. However, chewing gum in-between meals can make you hungry and make the detox more difficult to complete.
This can be a sign that your body is detoxing, which is called a Herxheimer reaction. This is due to the fact your body is releasing stored toxins, which your body is trying to process and eliminate as quickly as possible. Headaches, fatigue, and nausea are also common if you have altered your normal routine and are no longer consuming processed foods, caffeine, alcohol, etc. This causes your body to have withdrawal symptoms from these items, especially during the first 2 days. It should be gone by the end of day 3. Please discontinue the Detox if you have any concerns regarding symptoms.
No, we do not recommend completing the detox while pregnant or nursing.
If you would like to use an infrared sauna, coffee enema, or colonic while completing the detox, it is best to do so during days 3-7, after you have completed the fasting portion so that your body is stronger and able to work with the increased detoxification treatment.
Most people will be kicked out of a fasting state by using the DNS powder since it does contain 15 g of protein, but the best way to test is by using a glucometer to measure blood sugar (below 95 for a fasting state). However, you do get many of the same benefits during Detox including anti-inflammatory effects, hormone balancing, blood sugar balancing, and ease of digestion, along with the 12-hour overnight fast as part of the Detox protocol.
